Vebatec Special for bonding insulation materials to bitumen roof covering
In principle, it is possible to use Vebatec Spezial for bonding insulation materials to bitumen roof coverings, but there are various things to consider:
Vebatec Spezial is basically a sealant, but of course it also bonds. However, when using it as an adhesive, care must be taken that it is not applied over the entire surface.
If it is applied over the entire surface, the material may dry poorly or not at all. Therefore, it should be applied with toothpicks or as line beads spaced apart.
In general, Vebatec Spezial has a longer drying time of several days (for an open bead of 1x1cm approx. 10-14 days).
If, on the other hand, Vebatec Spezial is used as a sealant, the longer curing time does not matter, as the product immediately fulfils its function as a sealant - regardless of whether it was applied only recently or several days ago.
It is therefore important to bear this in mind when using the product as an adhesive.
